Ohnut Wearable Buffer Rings: For those who think that sex is supposed to hurt
Ohnut, a donut-like buffer ring that has finally arrived, is a savior for those who suffer from painful intercourse or size discrepancies with partner.
Emily, the founder of the company, had the same problem herself and created the Ohnut. Hear from Emily's interview with fermata here.
We’d like to share with you our interview to the actual user who has tried the Ohnut and kindly answered the detailed questions we asked.
Interviewee: Anne (pseudonym), designer in her 20’s
Q: What made you decide to try Ohnut? Were you able to tell your partner without hesitation?
A: We had been putting various efforts to reduce pain before we found Ohnut, such as taking enough time for penetration and moving slowly with using lubricants.
As I had been communicating to my partner about my pain, I was able to suggest to him, "There is a unique item I found, why don't we try it?
Q: It's nice to have such a relationship you can talk sensitive topics openly! Could you share with us your experience in the actual use of the Ohnut? Did you find it easy and smooth to use?
A: He put it on by himself and I was relieved to see that it went on easily. We felt it was tighter than we had imagined, so we applied plenty of lubricant before putting it on.
At first, we needed to go through some trial and error to find the best way to use but we managed to find it. Since Ohnut is truly a unique item that can be used in a variety of ways depends on each couple’s need, it was nice to have a tutorial in the manual.
We followed the instruction telling us to start with a set of three Ohnut. As I didn't feel any pain, we quickly reduced the number. But, I realized it was still painful with one Ohnut. We learned that it is better to take a little bit more time to confirm which is the most comfortable.
We like the touch of the Ohnut itself, that is soft, elastic and comfortable to use. We can adjust the depth, and it works well like a buffer.
Her partner also shared his experiences with us!
A: When I wore it for the first time with 3 Ohnuts, I was so anxious that I didn't feel like I inserted properly. By adjusting Ohnut to two or one, I got used to it and was able to move almost as same as usual.
Q: It’s important how comfortable it is, but what about the design and the maintenance after use?
A: I like the round shape design a lot; however, I could not help but feel he is wearing something. I wish Ohnut had different colours such as light salmon pink or orange which would blend in our skin colour. As to the maintenance, it is easy to clean and we can just wash it when we take a shower.
Q: Finally, what are your thoughts on trying Ohnut overall?
A: Even if you feel no pains in the beginning, we recommend that you take time to get used to it and adjust the number gradually.
It may be difficult to find the most comfortable depth at once, so it is important to go through trial and error and keep communicating with your partner.
