    We want to encourage everyone - from complete beginners to the more experienced - to explore and understand their bodies, what gives them pleasure and ultimately - empower people to feel good about themselves!

  • What's the founding story behind Aisle?

  • In 1993, our co-founder, Madeleine Shaw started having adverse reactions to tampons. Searching for sustainable alternatives, she hit upon making her own cloth pads. Her problems cleared up and she became convinced that these products could be life-changing for anyone with a period. She later teamed up with Suzanne Siemens, a chartered accountant, to found Lunapads, the brand name of the company until 2020.

    The company is not only renowned for its high quality, high performance products but for their commitment to ethical business and sustainability. They have been a “Best For The World” B Corp since 2017.

  • What issues are Aisle trying to solve?

  • Traditional disposable menstrual products contain a ton of plastic. It can be safely estimated that every regular disposable product is still in existence somewhere in a landfill. Our products provide effective, healthy period care without extra garbage, and are designed to outperform disposables, no matter what your period brings.

  • Femtech means for us designing with equality in mind - creating new products and systems that centre the user and create freedom.

    In my opinion the most important element of FemTech entrepreneurship is breaking down the collective silence that has been holding us back from progress, research, from the joys of human connection. Historically we’ve been cultured not to talk about sex even within our medical institutions, so when we’re all deprived of a healthy sex education, an entire population is deprived of the ability to make decisions about our health.
